AKSYON RADYO ILOILO is the consistent overall No. 1 radio station in Iloilo, achieving the top rank in the Kantar Media surveys conducted in December 2024, June 2024, September 2023, and April 2023. Operating under the call sign DYOK 720 kHz, AKSYON RADYO ILOILO is an AM station owned and operated by Manila Broadcasting Company. Its studio is located on the 3rd Floor of the Carlos Uy Building, Benigno Aquino Avenue, Mandurriao, Iloilo City. The station traces its roots back to September 16, 1991, when it was established as OK 720 Radyo Balita under the leadership of Engr. Sonny Mondejar, the station’s first manager. In December 1999, it was rebranded and officially launched as AKSYON RADYO ILOILO. Today, the station is led by seasoned broadcast journalist John Paul B. Tia, whose strong leadership and vision, along with the unwavering dedication of its 35 dynamic staff members, continue to drive the station’s success. Through balanced programming that appeals to audiences across socio-economic classes A to E, AKSYON RADYO ILOILO remains a pillar in the broadcasting industry. The station is home to some of the most respected and credible newscasters, reporters, and anchors in the region. It airs responsible and responsive public affairs programs, as well as top-rated entertainment shows, daily from 3:45 AM to 12:00 midnight. Licensed by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) under License No. DSD 1074-91, AKSYON RADYO ILOILO operates with a power output of 10,000 watts, utilizing Broadcast Electronics transmitters and advanced digital equipment. Its signal reaches audiences across Metro Iloilo, Panay, Guimaras, Negros Occidental, and parts of Cebu, Palawan, Masbate, Romblon, and Negros Oriental. The station's engineering team, led by Chief Technician Engr. Mark Anthony Rivera, ensures optimal broadcast quality through first-class technical supervision.
