ILOILO — Posible nga magdeklarar sang municipal outbreak ang Santa Barbara tungod sa na-record nga kaso sang pertussis ukon whooping cough, Suno kay Provincial Health Office head Dr. Maria Socorro Quiñon.

Base sa datos sang PHO, anom ka mga barangays ang may kaso sang nasambit nga balatian sa diin tatlo sa mga ini ang laboratory confirmed nga may na-detect nga Bordetella pertussis.

Ginpasalig naman ni Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr. nga handa magbulig ang Iloilo Provincial Goverment sa Santa Barbara ilabe na gid kun mapaidalom na ang amo nga banwa sa outbreak.

Sa karon ginahulat pa sang Sangguniang Bayan ang rekomendasyon sang ila Municipal Health Officer.

Sa 12th morbidity week nga data sang Provincial Epidemiology Surveillance Unit (PESU) may apat ka mga nagdugang nga napatay tungod sa pertussis.

Sa kabug-usan may 30 na ka mga kaso sang pertussis ang Iloilo Province sa diin 17 sini ang na-record nga suspected cases; anom ang laboratory confirmed kag pito naman ang napatay.
