“We did not ask for this” — Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas sa aregluhanay sa pwesto para sa Congressman kag Mayor

“The completion of the Certificate of Candidacy (COC) filing period marks a significant milestone for the democratic process in Iloilo City. For the Team Uswag, this is a welcome development as both camps have demonstrated respect for the unity that our ruling party has sought to foster. I see this as a positive step forward for our city’s future.

However, amidst the speculation that we were the ones who asked for alleged negotation, we would like to clarify once and for all that we did not ask for this situation. It came from a Leadership proposal for unity in Iloilo city. On our part in Team Uswag, we accepted the terms and acted in good faith right from the start; we did not falter and held on.

As we move forward, may God continue to bless Iloilo City as we strive together for unity and progress.” — via Aksyon Justice Savannah Pamplona
