ILOILO — Handa na nga magserbisyo ang 35 ka mga miyembro sang Passi City Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) pagkatapos ang tatlo ka bulan nga training.
Ginpasalig si Mayor Stephen Palmares nga suportahan niya ang Passi City SWAT team kag ang bug-os nga Passi City police nga nagabulig sa syudad sa mga aktibidad nga ginahiwat.
Ginpabutyag ni Palmares nga nagpa-in sila sang P3 million sa 2024 budget para sa modernization sang SWAT kag police, kag ginahulat na lang niya ang mga papeles kag iban pa nga mga dokumento halin sa Chief of Police.
Nagmandu man ang alkalde sa Chief sang Passi City Police Station nga hatagan siya sang lista sang mga kinahanglan nga equipment sang Passi City SWAT tungod luyag niya nga mangin presentable kag may uniform equipment nga ginalikapan sang long firearms kag side arms.
“If we have a stable peace and order, I’ll tell you one of my dreams in 2028 that Passi City will be the Tiger Economy in Central Panay [and] we can achieve it. You cannot achieve economic status if you don’t have peace and order. I’ll tell you that it is very significant and very important in investment. We can show to the entire Panay, we can show to the entire Philippines that Passi City is an area for investment. We have the lowest crime rate, if possible, we have the SWAT, the PNP, and every law enforcement unit working to keep our peace and order. [Through it] we can attract investments,” pahayag ni Palmares.
