Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas nagpanawagan sa mga ginikanan kag guardians nga mag-aligmat kag siguraduhon nga safe ang ila kabataan

Yari ang statement sang alkalde:

“I am concerned to learn about the recent incidents involving our youth, particularly the stabbing cases and altercations that took place in La Paz and Molo districts during curfew hours. These incidents are reminders of the pressing need for all of us—parents, barangay officials, and the entire City — to take active roles in guiding and protecting our children.

As Mayor of Iloilo City, I am calling on parents and guardians to remain vigilant and ensure their children are home during curfew hours. It is our shared responsibility to keep them safe and prevent their involvement in activities that may lead to harm.

To our barangay officials, I urge you to step up your patrols and maintain close coordination with the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO). Let us strengthen our enforcement of the city’s curfew ordinance and ensure that minors are properly monitored, especially during the Simbang Gabi.

The Iloilo City Government, in partnership with the ICPO and the Department of Social Welfare and Development, will continue to implement programs addressing juvenile concerns. But we cannot do this alone. The family and the Ilonggos play a crucial role in shaping the values and actions of our youth.

Buligay ta nga mapabilin nga safe kag malinong ang aton Siyudad.
